The Virginia Department of Transportation benefits from a client-focused data dashboard. This product visualizes yearly traffic considers different time periods throughout a week to inform the source of service disruptions and mitigation measures.
Roundtrip Runner Simulation
The successful number of roundtrips between an origin (distribution center) and destination (maritime port) is simulated using historic travel time data. This service considers how variations in weekdays, months, and seasons will influence the successful number of roundtrips that can be completed.
Performance Changepoint Detection
Testing the theory that network capacity is stochastic, this work identified a threshold in highway performance based on the demand volume at various times and locations across similar road networks. The result: rapid degradation of performance near half the capacity calculated with traditional models.
